Yarn spam

Just a pretty yarn picture because I'm too lazy to upload new pictures of Best Friend. Anyways, I should finish the first one tonight, so I'll just post lots of pictures at once. TV and knitting. That's what keeps me sane in grad school : )

Monkey

Okay so here are some pictures of the socks i have been working on:

They are actually a lot easier than I thought. Well, that was until I started knitting them inside out without noticing because I was watching T.V. and then I had to take out like four rows on the double pointed needles which pretty much sucked all the fun out of life. Anyway, the yarn is really pretty. I got it at Knit Nook, which is a really cool place it sells everything knitty and then has tables and sofas and huge fluffy chairs to knit in, and it is tiny but the fact that it is pretty makes up for it. I can't remember the brand because I lost the lable thing right now but I will find it because I never throw them away for some reason.

The introduction of photos

Alright, I thought I'd post while I'm in the mood. I keep meaning to post, and then getting distracted by things like Geekologie, which is amazing.

Currently I don't have too much time to knit. I hesitate to take my knitting on the subway, as everything I'm working on is on tiny wooden needles and I just know I'd crush them on the haul between apartment and subway and class and library and so on. So I generally take an hour or two each week, when I catch up on my shows, and knit then. So my projects are going slowly.

I am currently working on Best Friend, with the Joseph Galler pashmina it calls for, and it is absolutely lovely. I chose off-white, and it's a bit darker than I'd like, but I'm sure with a brightly-colored lining and the icy beads they will look nice. At least I hope they will, as they are to be gifts.

I've finally finished knitting both pieces, so my goal is to block them later on today and get them well on the way to being finished tomorrow. I may not finish them for a few days, though, as I have to wander around Queen Street to find some lining fabric.

After that, I have one more Baudelaire sock (the first is absolutely gorgeous, in lilac) and then I think I need a project on giant needles.

Alright, Megan, grab the camera! Tag!
